Alleged transfer scam in PHQ: Indicted SSP goes scot free, SI likely join SSG | | | Sumit Sharma Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 2: An officer of the rank of SSP and a Sub Inspector have been allowed to go scot free despite of the fact that duo, flouting PHQ's norms re-transferred a blue eyed cop back to PHQ without the order duly signed by Director General of Police (DGP) K Rajendra. The transfer scam was unearthed by the then IGP (Personnel). However, knowing all the facts, the PHQ is reported to have tossed the blotted cop SI Nazir for the service of the Special Security Group (SSG) CM security, a wing where persons of integrity, honesty, dedication and commitment are selected after getting green signals from agencies of State and Centre. Sub Inspector Nazir Ahmed's integrity came under scanner after his involvement was discovered in transfer scam in PHQ following which he was placed under suspension. Though under suspension, he was transferred to Kashmir zone for further adjustment in Baramula-Kupwara range. The transfer scam surfaced when a Head Constable namely Gh Mohd who was transferred from PHQ after 14 years of stay to Government Railways Police(GRP) under order No 113 dated 21/4/2015 again managed his posting back to Police Construction Division (PCD) in PHQ vide order No 2351 dated 5/8/15. IGP Hqrs A.K Choudhary brought this matter to the notice of the then IGP(P). The latter conducted an inquiry and found that order No 2351 dated 5/8/15 was signed by the AIG (P), an SSP ranked officer, instead of DGP J&K Police. Meanwhile, a senior police officer, wishing anonymity said that SI Nazir was exonerated on the ground that Head Constable Gh Mohd was attached to the PCD on the verbal order of DGP. The matter remained hot topic among the officers in the PHQ. Though SI Nazir was absolved of the charges, his posting in SSG has raised many an eyebrows in the PHQ. |
