Early Times Report Kargil, Dec 2: In connection with World Aids Day, Science and Technology Department of Kargil in collaboration with Health Department today organized an awareness programme on AIDS at New Academy Hall, Kargil. According to press release, around 300 students from Girls Higher Secondary School, Kargil, health workers and volunteers besides hundreds of people were participated in the programme. Expert of Health Department highlighted modes of transmission, symptoms, and preventive measures as well several other facets of the disease. Meanwhile to mark the day a debate competition was held wherein 6 girl students of Girls Higher Secondary School, Kargil took part. A play entitled Natngan (frightful disease) was also staged by the artists of Ranthak Theatre Group, Kargil. Executive Councillor for Health Mohsin Ali was the chief guest on the occasion. In his address Mohsin appreciated the role of Science and Technology Department and Health Department, in organizing such awareness programme. Later the chief guest distributed certificates and prizes among the students, judges, doctors and the artists of Ranthak Theatre Group who participated in the programme. |
