Jammu, Dec 2: A High Court division bench of Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Bansi Lal Bhat today issued a notice to secretary of ministry of civil aviation, director general of civil aviation and all airlines to file their response to the PIL, seeking direction for capping of minimum and maximum airfare charged by them from passengers. In the PIL filed by an ex-president of chamber of commerce and industry and a lawyer, a direction has been sought for capping the minimum and maximum airfare to enable the public at large to earn the affordability to travel by air.
The bench, after hearing the two sides, issued notice to secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Directorate General of Civil Aviation and all airlines to file their response within two weeks. -(JNF) |
