Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 2: Giving details of exemplary discrimination with Private schools vis-a-vis government schools, Kuldeep Kumar Rao and Ram Singh Chauhan, members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ), today alleged that state government has adopted double standard and different yardstick vide SRO: 123 dated 18-03-2010 to regulate the private schools in the state and termed it as harassment to force them to close their set up In a joint statement from Kuldeep Kumar Rao and Ram Singh Chauhan, members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice (MPEJ), have expressed great dismay and anguish over SRO: 123 dated 18-03-2010 in regulating the private schools in the state. "As per order the private schools are required to renew/extension period of Recognition/Affiliation after every 2 to 3 years with a huge burden of formalities where as no such renewal/extension is required in government schools, they said adding, "further the accommodation required for private schools in respect of Principal room, Staff room, office room, Laboratory room is beyond ones imagination." Apart from this building safety certificate, Fire safety certificate, Chemical safety Certificate etc. are another burden on private schools, they said and termed all this just to harass the concerned whereas no such binding is imposed on Government Schools. The duo has urged upon Education Minister to look into the matter and give respite to them. |
