Jammu, Nov 2: It was unexpected schooling for some students of two schools in Samba district who allegedly were made to stay in school till late evening hours following the orders of the DC Samba Sheetal Nanda. Locals and parents of the students of two Govt Higher Secondary Schools at Raya and Smailpur of Samba district today alleged that their wards were forced to stay in their respective schools till late evening hours thus make them panicky. "When their wards don't turn up late evening, locals said and added that they got panicked thus went to schools to inquire the matter. "It was after their personal visit to schools they were informed by school faculty that students had to sit in school as DC Samba had passed directions in this regard, parents said, adding, "they (students) were let off at 6 pm, while the school staff was left free at 7 pm." DC Samba Sheetal Nanda when contacted briefly said that students were directed to go home early while the school staff were to sit till late evening. "The purpose of the visit of the DC to schools is stated to be the inspections of the schools as both the government schools have been adopted by the Central University, sources added.
