POONCH, Dec 2: Provincial Youth National Conference President Jammu, Ajaz Jan on Wednesday sought immediate compensation of Rs 10 lakh for Shookar Ahmed, a daily wager of the Power Development Department, who lost his arms while coming into contact with a live wire during working on an electric pole.
Jan said that the daily wager suffered severe burns when working on the pole at Brari Village. He described the attitude of the PDD most callous as none of the officers came to his rescue so far.
The Youth National Conference Provincial President also criticised the police for not lodging FIR so far in the incident. He expressed concern over such incidents saying careless on the part of the department has taken toll of people and rendered several people disabled. Jan visited the hapless daily wager in the hospital, enquired about his health and expressed solidarity with his family. |
