JAMMU, Dec 17 : Sanand Sharma emerged as sub-junior boys' billiards champion after he defeated Basit Wani in straight frames of 51-34, 50-25, 52-42 in the ongoing 22nd State Billiards and Snooker Championship, organised by J&K Billiards and Snooker Association, at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, here.
An upcoming cueist, Sanand played patiently throughout and hardly missed the chance came his way in this best of three game title clash.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Sanand outplayed Furkan Wani 2-0 (51-25, 50-30) while Basit defeated Aman Choudhary in similar manners 53-45, 50-35.
Meanwhile, organising secretary and senior vice president of the Association, Jaideep Manocha said, " With all the finals of twin events of billiards and snooker have been decided, the valedictory function of the State Championship shall be held on a later date." |
