In absence of boss, Minister's pvt secretary calls shots | | | ET Report Jammu, Dec 17: A private secretary of a senior Minister has taken the lead role to call the shots and to do most of the things a minister is supposed to do. The development has raised eye-brows with most of the employees and bureaucrats feeling irritated by the actions of Minister's private secretary. When this Early Times reporter visited civil Secretariat on Thursday he found that instead of the Minister, his private secretary was directing the officials to redress the problems of the people. "I came here from Chadora Budgam to meet the minister but the officials presented in the office said that the minister is not available. I was shocked to see the private secretary in the chamber of the minister doing most of the things the minister is supposed to do," he said. The employees raised eyebrows over the actions of the minister's private secretary. "How come a private secretary could directly indulge in activities which are out of his domain. It seems that minister does not want to face the common people and has given his role to his private secretary," one of the employee told Early Times. The people who were present outside the chamber of the minister complained that the ministers, who leaves no stone unturned to claim that they are the representatives of people, seems to have no time for people. "When they come to seek votes they behave as if they are angels and are the most polite people upon this earth. After they attain power they forget everything." said a visitor, who was standing outside the office chamber of the Minister. |
