Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 17: Following reports that the Congress high command has decided to adopt a soft approach towards the suspended leaders and new district presidents of State Congress are likely to be announced soon, the dissident group in Jammu Kashmir unit of Congress has once again started flexing muscles. After maintaining a low profile for more than four months, the dissident group of third front in Pradesh Congress convened a meeting and reiterated its stand to oppose the JKPCC president. According to the sources, the meeting was attended by all the leaders of third front and dissidents, including Jugal Kishore Sharma, Amolak Singh, RS Chib, Hari Singh, Arvinder Singh Micky and others. These leaders vowed to continue their opposition of JKPCC president, who according to them, did not keep his promise of adjusting all the senior leaders in the JKPCC. Even as the dissident group is accusing the JKPCC president of being harsh sources said that the fresh attempt of revolt against the president is a well planned strategy of the camp to exert pressure ahead of announcement of new district presidents. There are reports that JKPCC president in consultation with senior leaders has finalized the new district presidents, whose names are likely to be made public very soon as the Congress high command has also okayed the list. Sources said that no member of the dissident camp has been adjusted in the list of proposed district presidents and this is the reason that attempts are being made to exert pressure on the JKPCC President. Further, sources added, the high command has signalled to take back Gulchain Singh Charak, Abdul Gani Vakil and Prem Sagar Aziz, who were suspended from the Congress for their anti-party activities, and in the prevailing circumstances, there are remote chances of taking disciplinary action against more persons. This has encouraged the dissident camp, which is all set to further intensify its activities in next few days, sources elaborated. |
