Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Dec 17: The PDP unit, Kishtwar, today assured the district administration and police its full support with regard to initiating action against the hate mongers who want to destabilise peace and communal harmony in the district.
While talking to Early Times, PDP State Secretary (Youth) Mohammad Umar Malik said communalism had no space in our society and added that the present government headed by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syeed would never allow mushrooming of communal elements who "want to divide people in the name of religion.
He said, "PDP fully supports police and civil administration investigating two incidents of communal nature in Kishtwar in the last two days. PDP has conveyed to police and civil administration to launch major crackdown against the anti-peace elements without caring for their religious and political affiliations. The party will back all the decisions taken in the interest of long lasting peace and tranquility in Kishtwar district."
He said that the issue had also been taken up with the party's senior leaders who had agreed to what the district leadership had conveyed to the police and civil administration. He said the hate mongers should be put behind the bars.
PDP District Youth President Wasil Doolwal said that party youth delegation today also called on Deputy Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan in his office chamber and conveyed the massage of party support to him with regard to initiating action against the hate mongers.
"PDP has come to power with a mission of development and for development, peace is imperative--- our party will not allow derailing of peace and developmental initiative by surrendering to a few people who want to divide the society on religious lines," said Doolwal.
He said that government would curb anti-peace elements with iron hand and the administration had full backing of the government in this regard. He said that party had also taken a strong note of the spreading of hate massages by some persons on social media and added that party had requested the police and civil administration to identify and punish such elements under law. He also asked for initiating action against the fake NGOs which were issuing statements without verifying the facts on ground. He said that DC and SSP, Kishtwar, had assured them that all those elements would be booked under law for disrupting peace and tranquility, besides hurting the sentiments of the people. PDP leaders also hailed the role of people, police and civil administration for preventing the situation from taking an ugly turn.
