NCP hails Supreme Court decision on upholding reservation in promotions | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 19: Hailing the decision of the Supreme Court on maintaining status quo in a petition filed against the judgment of Division Bench of J&K High Court wherein reservation of promotion to employees of the reserved categories was declared null and void and unconstitutional, the Nationalist Congress Party ((NCP) said that the reservation to the weaker sections is an important provision in the Constitution of India. A meeting of the State NCP senior office bearers was held under the chairmanship state NCP chief Thakur Randhir Singh wherein other senior leaders including Krishan Kumar Digra Vice President, President Para Legal Voluntarily Association and Chairman Legal Cell and Rattan Chand, Chairman SC,ST OBC Cell of state NCP who is a retired senior officer from Home Ministry. Krishan Kumar Digra said that this provision of the reservation in promotions of services category of Government employees is not only applicable in Jammu and Kashmir but applicable throughout the country and the state government must follow the latest verdict of the Supreme Court. |
