| SSA teachers seek pending salary | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad

Srinagar, Dec 19: Notwithstanding the claim of the government that the salary of the SSA teachers has been released, the Sarva Shikhshya Abhiyan teachers have accused the government of withholding their pay.
"Though the government had claimed that they had made funds available for the reimbursement of our pending salaries but the fact is that we did not get the pending salaries of last four months," one of the female SSA teachers wishing not to be named told Early Times on Saturday.
Another teacher said that they are running from pillar to post for their salaries, but of no avail. "I haven't received salary of three months and despite repeated requests to the concerned officials, my salary is not released".
One of SSA teachers said, "My salary was pending since June after government claims that it has release funds to the SSA I was expecting the release of my pending salary but I was shocked when my account was deposited with only one month's salary," another SSA teacher said. It is to mention here that the Jammu & Kashmir Government had claimed that it has released funds for reimbursing pending salaries of teachers under the SSA. |
