Jammu, Dec 19: Aarakshan Virodhi Manch Jammu today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Ram Pal Seth.
According to press release, a threadbare discussion was held over the prevailing status of caste-based reservation at State and National level. During meeting decision of Supreme Court over a writ petition on reservation in reservation which has sought Government of J&K Government and other groups also discussed.
They further demanded abolishment of Social Welfare Department and establishment of People Welfare Department for the welfare of the poor of all castes/ religion/ regions. He added that Manch would not support any political parties.
Sat Pal Sharma, President IAR demanded checking of misuse of SC/ST Act and constitution of National Commission to find out the economic, political and social status of each ethnic group.
Raj Kumar, Ravi Sawhney, Sat Pal Sharma, Madan Lal Narad, Jograj Sharma, Romesh chander, V.K Sharma, Som Nath Sharma and Kulbir Singh Chib also expressed their views during meeting. |
