Ramban, Dec 19: The security forces in a joint search cum combing operation today claimed to have busted a militant hideout in Ramban district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition including AK ammunition, IED and etc.
According to army spokesperson, the troops of Delta Force based at Banihal alongwith local Police, busted a terrorist hideout in the dense forests of Kumet area of Ramban district and recovered huge quantity of arms, ammunition and war like stores. "Based on specific information received about likelihood of a terrorist hideout in dense Kumet forest, the joint operation by troops of Delta Force and Police launched a joint serach operation on Friday evening which continued in extreme inclement weather conditions till late afternoon today," army spokesperson said.
He said, "The security forces busted a hideout and recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition and other war like stores including 01- AK 47 rifle with 03 magazines, 02 -Chinese made pistols with 04 magazines, 169- rounds of AK 47, 53 -rounds of 7.62 sniper ammunition, 01 -IED, 50gm PEK (DIS), wire fuse, 01 -hand held radio set, 01- sickle, 02 -blankets, 01 -civil dress and cooking utensils." |
