ADG NCC reviews preparations of R-Day Contingent of state | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 19 : Additional Director General, National Cadet Corps, J&K Major General SS Jakhar reviewed the preparations of the State NCC Republic Day Contingent at the NCC Academy Nagrota. The contingent comprising of 102 NCC Cadets representing all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir, has been selected by a very tough selection process where cadets had to undergo three grueling and arduous Pre RDC Camps. They were selected for the final and fourth camp which is primarily meant to further hone their skills in Drill, ship modeling, firing and various cultural activities of the State. Various cadets selected in the contingent will also take part in selection of Best cadet and for nomination to visit foreign countries under Youth Exchange Programme. Cadets will also compete in selection for the NCC contingent for Republic Day Parade on 26 January 2016 at Rajpath New Delhi. During the full dress rehearsal the selected cadets put up a spirited show of their skills in various events in which they will be competing at National level against cadets of other State NCC Directorates. Gen Jakhar complimented the cadets, officers and staff of NCC for the great enthusiasm and dedication shown by them in preparations. He wished them all success in various competitions at National Level. The Contingent is being invited by the Governor to Raj Bhavan before their departure to Delhi in end December. The Chief Minister is also likely to meet and bless the contingent before their departure. |
