Cong expresses solidarity with Sonia, Rahul Gandhi | Holds peaceful protest across State | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 19: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee held peaceful protests across the state against the political vendetta of BJP against Congress party leadership. While JKPCC Chief G A Mir led the protest rally in Jammu, prominent Congress Leaders and District Presidents led the peaceful protests at District Headquarters across the State. Pradesh Congress Committee strongly condemned BJP leadership for launching a false, frivolous and malicious campaign to defame the Congress Party and hatching conspiracies to weaken it. BJP which is losing the ground very fast in the country is indulging in unfair means to corner the Congress Party and its leadership, but the fact remains, people of country being wise enough are watching it (BJP) very minutely and the day is not far, when BJP will have to pay a heavy price for its wrong and anti people policies. Hitting out at BJP for trying to malign the image of Gandhi's in order to settle political scores, JKPCC accused Narendra Modi for protecting and providing space to corrupt and tainted persons. Expressing solidarity with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, Pradesh Congress Committee leaders castigated BJP and its leadership for launching a vicious campaign against the Congress Party aiming to tarnish the image of its leadership, which is highly condemnable and intolerable. All JK Congress Party workers today staged huge protest demonstration at Mukherjee Chowk under the leadership of Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, former Minister & General Secretary Pradesh Congress Party where Paramjeet Singh Gen Secy PYC, Girdhari Lal Dogra, Pankaj Dogra, Naresh Sharma and Nirdosh Sharma were also present. While addressing the protesters, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma said that the Congress party and AJL share an emotive bond as the party had given loans over a long period to revive AJL. He said all assets of AJL continue to be with it and not a penny has gone to young Indian. The stakeholders wanted the paper to be revived, not to get profits from the sale of the assets. Paramjeet Singh, Gen Secretary, PYC that the newspaper was a legacy of the freedom struggle and wanted its revival. He said Companies Act 2013 empowers the government to revoke the license granted to 25 company. In order to demonstrate solidarity with party leadership Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and to express their resentment against discriminatory attitude adopted BJP Govt, a large number of congress party workers from different parts of the district assembled in front of D.C office Doda and lodged a strong protest. At Doda, the protest was led by MLC Naresh Gupta.While addressing the protestors Naresh Gupta urged upon the BJP Govt to mainly focus towards the development of country adding that the policies adopted by the Central Govt are anti people and democratic institutions in the country are in danger. Gupta also maintained that instead of resolving the issues announced by Modi during Lok Sabha elections, he is dividing the people on regional and religious basis saying that they are dragging our leadership in the false and baseless litigation to divert the attention of general masses from the development. Gupta appealed all the party workers to remain united, maintain communal harmony and highlight the burning issues of their respective areas besides preparing themselves for the coming local bodies and panchayat elections. |
