After Pathankot attack, security beefed up: SSP Ramban | | | Danish Muzafar Early Times Report Banihal, Jan 10: After the Pathankot attack, like other parts of the state, the security were also beefed up in district Ramban as well as on Jammu Srinagar highway to avoid any untoward incident in the area. Police and army jointly did round ups in the different areas of the district Ramban. Police have made checking nakas at different locations on highway and increased the routine checking. Checking of vehicles were increased by police and army on highway. The Police and army forces are jointly rounding in the different areas of the district for the safety purposes and to avoid any untoward incident . When contacted SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar told Early Times that the security was tightened in the district and on highway. He said that that to avoid any untoward incident on the eve of Republic Day and after the Pathankot attack security were tightened in the district. Security forces including police and army parties have set up nakas on different stations of highway from Patnitop to Jawhar tunnel in order to check vehicles closely. In district police nakas were also setup on link roads and round up of forces were also made in the upper reaches of Ramban,Banihal Ramsoo, Ghool and other parts of the district. Pertinent to mention that after the militants attack at Pathankot air base a high alert call was given by the security agencies, the security were beefed up in the whole state of Jammu and Kashmir and also security check was increased specially on Jammu Srinagar highway. Sources said that the security was also tightened by the authorities in Doda,Kishtwar,Baderwah and other parts of the region. Many check posts were established at different spots on the highway and in inner link roads of the area claimed sources. |
