Srinagar, Jan 10: Aimd Governor's rule in Jammu and Kashmir after the Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed passing away, BJP's young elected faces have triggered a massive resentment in the party by demanding cabinet and other ministerial berths.
The differences within the Party among the disgruntled BJP MLAs over demanding of ministerial issues have been getting higher forced Party's top leadership to convene two all party meetings in two consecutive days and some of them have already launched a whispering campaign against party leadership.
In Srinagar meeting, Sources said some of the BJP MLAs have expressed their anguish and were upset over denying ministerial berths by the top leadership what they were demanding in all party legislators meeting held at Government Circuit House Srinagar on Friday in which all senior leaders and party national general secretary, Ram Madhav were present.
"There was resentment not only among MLAs but among workers also. The young elected faces were demanding ministerial berths. They were demanding that we should be given a chance of becoming ministers", party insider of BJP said.
"Some MLAs have even registered a protest against the top leadership over denial of ministerial berths to them. They were loudly saying we have won in Assembly elections by a huge margin then why party favors those faces again", party sources requesting anonymity said.
"After the heated arguments of some MLAs and were accusing each other in the meeting. One of the young elected faces intensely ran away from the meeting by saying he feels jobless without being any ministerial portfolio," added source.
He is also quite upset over the denial of portfolios even after being continuously demanding, the sources said, adding that he said "in the absence of a portfolio, several MLAs feel they are without work."
The top leadership of BJP while trying to pacify the angry BJP MLAs annoyed over denying ministerial berths, has called the emergency secret meeting of all party legislators at 11 am at Jammu on Saturday.
Reliable sources said that while some of the MLAs have aired their anger against denial of ministerial berths added that "during the meeting held in Jammu some MLAs aired their anger against attitude being adopted by some ministers while fighting for getting plum portfolios."
However, BJP had already made it clear it will go with the PDP's choice for the post of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, clearing the road for Mehbooba Mufti to take over charge of Chief Minister of the state following her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's death.
"It is for PDP to decide who will be their leader," BJP vice president and its Jammu and Kashmir in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna recently told Delhi based News Wire, PTI when asked about his party's stand on Mehbooba succeeding her father, who died earlier in the day at New Delhi's AIIMS.
