As transformers break down several villages san electricity | | | Early Times Report
RAMBAN, Jan 14: Dozens of villages in district Ramban are without power supply for the past two weeks due to breakdown of electric transformers in these villages. Reports said that the deteriorating condition and unscheduled power cuts in the district creates problems for the locals. The inhabitants of Nagbal and Mir Pora in Banihal town said that their 63 KV electric transformer is out of order for the last fifteen days and people of the area are still waiting for electric supply to be restored. People alleged that Ukhral, Ramsoo and different villages of Gool and Ramban are also facing the same problems. An official of PDD said that near about 50 electric transformers are damaged in the district due to overloading. He said that during the winters the consumers are using boilers, heaters and other electric gadgets which put extra load on transformers which led to the transformers getting damaged. He said that maximum damaged transformers are shifted to work shop at Batote and after repairing one by one these transformers will be installed on the respective places in the district. The general people alleged that the main cause behind the deteriorating condition of Power supply in the area is the old transformers installed 15- 16 years ago. People from these villages appealed Power development department PDD for earlier restoration of electric supply so they cannot suffer more. |
