Although the Project Officer of District Urban Development Agency, Baramulla/Bandipora has shot a letter in this regard to Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department a month back there has been no response so far with the employees continuing to feel heat since they are without salaries. On December 18, 2015, Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency, Baramulla/Bandipora wrote a letter to Commissioner Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department asking him to expedite the process of release of salary to the staff of the two districts but up to this moment of time no breakthrough has been made. "It is submitted that DUDA staff Baramulla/Bandipora is without salaries since May 2015. The officials are hailing from Srinagar and mainly fall in the class 4th group D. Due to non release of their salaries the families of these employees are adversely suffering and it is also affecting their regularity and performance in the field as well as in the department," wrote the Project Officer DUDA Baramulla/Bandipora in the communication DSEO/Bla/638-40. According to the break-up given by the Project Officer, Rs. 28 lakhs are pending as normal salary of the staff from May 2015. An amount of Rs. 5 lakhs is pending as salary of the two Mission Managers and one Computer Operator (CO). The break-up reads that Rs. 45,000 are pending as salary for the normal contractual staff of one Accounts Assistant and a Computer Operator (CO). In total the pending amount on account of the salary head of these employees is Rs. 33.45 lakhs. "The officials are off and on representing to this office for early release of their salary dues and their economic condition is quite pathetic. It is as such requested that the necessary funds may kindly be released for meeting their salaries to enable them to mitigate their problems and also ensure effective functioning of the office," said the Project Officer DUDA Baramulla/Bandipora in the communication. Meanwhile, talking to Early Times the employees said that they are up against many odds due to the delay in release of their salaries and demanded that the salaries should be released immediately. They sought the intervention of Governor Narendra Nath Vohra and hoped that their long pending demand would be met by the present dispensation headed by Governor Vohra. "We had joined the DUDA with the hope that we will be able to provide some relief to our family, but that is not to be. We discharge our duties regularly, but still then we are being denied the salaries. This is sheer injustice and we want immediate solution to our problems so that we too live a dignified life," said the employees. |
