Mehbooba to resume political activities from today 1/14/2016 11:55:37 PM Saahil Suhail ET Report ANANTNAG, Jan 14: PDP president Mehooba Mufti, who is likely going to take over as Chief Minister of the state in coming days, is all set to resume her political activities from Friday. According to reports, PDP president will address a gathering in her hometown- Bijbehara- at famous Mughal Garden Dara Shakoh- the last resting place of her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. Insiders in People's Democratic Party told Early Times that party will hold (Fateh Khawani) special prayers after Friday prayers in remembrance of Late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed at Dara Shakoh Garden. Party activists and sympathizers from southern districts-Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian -will attend that prayers session, they said. Besides workers, top PDP leaders will too participate in the Fateh Khwani. They said that Mehbooba Mufti's brother Mufti Tasaduq, a cinematographer by profession is too expected to make his presence at the politically charged venue. "Once the Fateh Khwani will conclude, Mehbooba Mufti will make a brief speech wherein she could make few political statements," a top leader pleading anonymity said. He claimed that addressing the gathering after the Fateh Khwani will mark resumption of her political activities which she had suspended after the death of her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He said that all those who loved respected and fallowed late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed will attend the function. Meanwhile, security agencies were spotted carrying out necessary security related activities around the grave yard of late Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in Dara Shakoh Garden at Bijbehara. Senior police and CRPF officers visited the spot while as party workers have setup the stage and decorated the venue. Pertinently, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed breathed his last at AIIMS, Delhi on January 7. He was admitted to AIIMS on December 24 after he complained of chest pain, uneasiness. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed's death resulted imposition of Governors Rule and political uncertainty in the state as her daughter Mehbooba Mufti is yet to take over as Chief Minister despite backing of party legislators and collation partner BJP.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
