Two female impersonators held, extorted money recovered

Jammu, Jan 14: Gandhi Nagar police today arrested two impersonators who imposed as lawyer and extorted money from a middle aged man after threatening him implicating in a false molestation case and recovered extorted money from their possession.
Police spokesman said that today one complainant namely Israr Mohammad lodged a complaint at Gandhi Nagar police station that while travelling in a minibus, one girl in boyish outlook impersonating as young student sat beside the complainant on the seat and the other on backseat, after some distance, the boyish outlook girl waiving her hand on the face of complainant, which the complainant stopped. At that instance the other girl who was sitting on the backseat threatened the complainant by impersonating herself as Advocate to the extent that the complainant will be booked in Police Station for anything which the girls desired. Due to such fear they took away Identity Card, cash and other documents including cell phone, but SIM card was returned to the complainant.
Later, on the complainant started receiving calls from the mobile numbers of girls, threatening him for dire consequences and defamation with the plea that if he (complainant) will not pay Rs. 20,000 to them, which the complainant complied / paid.
After some days the girls again started calling the complainant and demanded Rs-30,000 with fear of endangering his job, implicating him in some false case and malign his reputation.
He was trapped in such a fear and again given money to the girls, but the girls not stopped such practice and again demanded more money from the complainant to which by gathering some courage the complainant arrived at Police Station and narrated the whole episode. On this a case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation entrusted to SI Kirti Sharma of Gandhi Nagar police station.
Thereafter, a Police team headed by Inspector Bishnesh Kumar SHO Gandhi Nagar under the supervision Shazaad Salaria, SP City South and overall supervision of Uttam Chand, SSP Jammu nabbed both the girls and recovered extorted money and other documents from their possession. Further investigation is going on; involvement of some other cases cannot be ruled out at this stage.
