Rajourites accord tearful adieu to Mufti Sayeed

Rajouri, Jan 14: Locals held a special congregation at world famous shrine of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah at Shahdra in Rajouri district under the leadership of Abdul Qayoom Dar, Chairman Auqaf Rajouri to pay homage to late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who had special bond for this sacred Ziarat (Shrine).
People irrespective to caste, religion and creed from region thronged to holy shrine at Shahdra to join the special prayers held to pray for the serenity and eternal peace to departed soul and to extend their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family
The proceedings of the special congregation began with 'Quran Khawani,' in which hundreds of students from Madrasas of the district, besides common people and Ulemas (religious cleric) recited the verses of holy Quran.
The congregation was presided over by the senior most religious authority of the region, Moulana Hafiz Mohd Sayeed. Tears rolled down from the eyes of the people when the Ulemas of the area were paying their homage and were praying for the peace of the departed soul.
In his emotional address, Chairman district Auqaf and administrator Shahdra sharief Shrine, Abdul Qayoom Dar said, "The death of Mufti Mohd Sayeed had deprived the entire Peer Panjal region of a Massiah, who thought and stood for welfare of the backward people of region. "We have lost a sympathiser and advocate of the region in Mufti sahib's death, he said.
Dar also added that the loss in the death of tall leader like Mufti shall remain irreparable for the people of region. He also expressed his heartfelt sympathies from the region with the bereaved family, especially Mehbooba Mufti who remained close to her father all the time and felt the shock severely.
Ulemas from different areas of the region also threw light on the life and contributions of late leader, terming him a far sighted and visionary human being who lived for the poor and down trodden.
"It was due to hectic efforts by the late Chief Minister that the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) after the name of revered saint came into existence at Rajouri, they recalled. "Mufti Sahib's love for the region and reverence for the Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah Shrine was so intense that during his every visit he used to visit shrine and pay his obeisance at the Shrine," he added.
Recalling contributions of the late leader, speakers also mentioned that Pir Panjal region have got mega projects during the late leader's time which include historical Mughal road, Baba Ghulam Shah University, Medical College ,Degree colleges etc.
