Jammu, Jan 14 : The 349th Prakash Utsav (birthday celebrations) of the 10th and last Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singhji, founder of Khalsa Panth is being celebrated on January 16 from 10 am to 4 pm at Sant Mela Singh Ji College of Education, near Digiana Ashram, Jammu with traditional religious zeal and enthusiasm. The function is to be organized under the supervision of 108 Mahant Manjit Singh Ji of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib, Poonch by the cooperation of five elected members DGPC Jammu and various Sikh organizations of J&K. Addressing media persons here today S Avtar Singh Khalsa, Member DGPC, Jammu flanked with General Secretary Sikh United Front (J&K) and representatives of various Sikh organizations said that according to the Member DGPC, Jammu alongwith Nanak Shahi Calendar issued with the approval of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib and published by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar, the celebration of 10th Guru Parv is being celebrated in the whole world. "Many Ragies, religious preachers within and outside state are participating in the celebration held to mark the Parkash Purab and would throw light on the life and history of Guru Ji, he said. Among prominent who will grace the occasion include Giani Jagdev Singh religious preacher SGPC Amritsar, Giani Amrik Singh Dhadi Jatha from Pathankot, Punjab, Bibi Jaspreet Kour Ragi Jatha of Patiala Wale and S Swaran Singh Khalsa religious preacher of SGPC Amritsar, Incharge Sikh Mission, J&K," he added. Speakers also mentioned that many religious Sikh bodies and community organizations of J&K are participating and cooperating in the Parkash Utsav of Guru Ji which include District G urudwara Parb-handak Committee Jammu, Jammu Local Gurudwaras Committees of Jammu District, Sikh United Front J&K, Bhai Kanahya Jee Nishkam Sewa Society J&K, All India Sikh Student Federation J&K, Sikh Welfare Society, J&K, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Jammu and Sikh Istri Sudhar Sabha, Jammu.
