Bar Association goes on strike against SSP, DDC Kathua 1/28/2016 9:58:19 PM Early Times Report Kathua, Jan 28: BarAssociation Kathua went on strike against Senior Superintendent of Police and DDC Kathua for victimizing a lawyer and burnt their effigies and demanded action against police officer allegedly filed fake FIR against their companion lawyer Atul Andotra. Speaking on the occasion, members of the association said that the victim lawyer was going to labour court when district administration Kathua allowed relaxation in curfew imposed on Kishtwar riots but a Sub Inspector graded officer forbade the lawyer to enter the labour court, hot dialogues turned into manhandling and officer started beating the victim lawyer mercilessly. While addressing to protesters, Arvind Gupta President Bar Association Kathua alleged on SSP and DDC Kathua to back the accused police officer who started beating a lawyer unnecessary and filed fake FIR. He said police department issued non-bailable warrant against victim lawyer and try to present the case in CJM court that would not be tolerated and condemned both inside and outside the session court. Rajeev Andotra President Youth wing of Bar Association said SSP Kathua did not take any action against complaint filed against such cop. He informed that government issued a circular and ordered to withdraw all cases occurred during Kishtwar riots but Police and District administration would unaware about that circular.
