Jammu, Jan 28: A month after Service Selection Recruitment Board (JKSSRB) conducted entrance examination for various non-gazetted posts, remuneration remains to be unpaid to the invigilators.
Invigilators, who had manned the entrance examination centres in district Kathua, informed Early Times that after the lapse of nearly one month, the private college authorities have been delaying payment.
"For the last few days, we have been making rounds of the private colleges, where we had given duties, but every time the college chairman and officials gave lame excuses", an invigilator rued.
The invigilators further said that they had manned examination centres established in Baba Farid private College, Bhagat Kabir, Guru Teg Bahadur, Bharat College and each college authorities have been adopting the delaying tactics. "We are government teachers and also have to go to our respective schools for routine duties. Twice, we went to Baba Farid College for getting remuneration but the guard informed that Chairman was not in the office", an invigilator said, adding that even the college chairman was not attending his phone.
They said, "How much days, a government teacher can waste to get Rs. 300 as remuneration from these private college officials. Same is the attitude of Bhagat Kabir and Teg Bahadur college management."
They further said that Zonal Education Officer Lakhanpur had deputed the teachers but the private college authorities have sit on the money.
"Cheques to the tune of several thousands are released by JKSSRB on the names of private college Chairman, so they have been buying times so that least number of invigilators would take their remuneration and the rest of amount will ultimately go into the pockets of college administration, so they have adopted dilly delaying tactics", the invigilators alleged.
ZEO Lakhanpur, SK Dhar said that Principal of respective college was Superintendent in the entrance examination and the cheques were forwarded by JKSSRB authorities to the respective private colleges.
He further said that it was upto college authorities to distribute the money among the invigilators.
Dr. Ram Murti of Baba Farid College of Education said that on last Monday, they received the money from the SSRB and money was being given to the invigilators, who have come to college. "All the invigilators, who come to college, have been given the money and there is no question of delay", he said.
Chairman of Guru Teg Bahadur College, didn't pick up his phone despite repeated calls.
Secretary of SSRB said that Board had given the money to the colleges' administration in advance, before December 25, two pay the monitoring staff.
