JAMMU, Jan 28: In view of the Governor Rule in the state, the D.O letters of ex-ministers of the BJP-PDP coalition government are of almost no value to the state police headquarters (PHQ). Most of these letters are thrown by their handlers into the dustbin. Police sources said even as there existed no political government in the state after the demise of chief minister Mufti Mohammad Syed, PHQ was flooded with D.O (demo-official) letters of some ex-ministers. "In most of these D.O letters, the ex-ministers have asked the PHQ to post officers of their choice in their respective constituencies. They wait for a few days but when no response comes, some even speak to senior officers at PHQ, asking them to oblige their D.O letters," sources said. Sources said despite repeated assurances from the PHQ, no transfers and postings were being done at the instance of these ex-ministers. "PHQ is not obliging the ex-ministers and wants to function without political interference in Governor Rule," sources said. |
