Katra, Jan 28: Notwithstanding terror threats, the inflow of pilgrims to Shri Vaishno Devi nestled in the Trikuta Hills of Reasi district has increased. Giving a befitting reply to the reported militant threat, the State of Jammu and Kashmir the inflow of the yatra at holy town Katra once again touched the peak on the Republic Day this year aftermath the terror attack at Pathankot Air Base on January 2 and high alert sounded in J&K. Sources sharing details said that the flow of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra is quite more this year too in the 4th week of January including Republic Day celebration as compared to the corresponding period in past years. "Despite the recent attempt of unleashing terror in the state and nation by the Pathankot Air Force Station, the pilgrimage of Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Holy Shrine as well as the tourists in the State remained unaffected. They added that the tourists coming to Jammu and Kashmir have proved that such type of activities, carried out by militant outfits, would not cast any affect on the tourism. According to the statistics provided by Shri Mata Shrine Board Katra, the number of Yatries who had darshan in the last two days has increased. However, police authorities claimed that they "are making a strict vigil on the inflowing Yatra at the Holy town Katra." |
