Katra, Jan 28: Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra is going to implement various major infrastructure development projects for facilitation of the pilgrims and the people at large in Katra. The information about such programs was given by Ajeet Kumar Sahu, , Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at the Republic Day celebration at Katra on 26th of January. The main function of Republic Day celebration at Katra was held at the Shrine Board Multi Purpose Sports Complex, where Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, hoisted the tricolour and took salute at an impressive march-past by the contingents drawn from CRPF, J&K Police, NCC Boys and Girls, Scouts and Guides, besides the students of various educational institutions of Katra and its surrounding areas. Speaking on the occasion, Sahu greeted the people and recalled the sacrifices made by the great national leaders for attaining freedom for the country from foreign rule. He said that the country has made great progress in fields of development and also emphasized the need for making untiring efforts by one and all to carry forward the country on the path of rapid progress and prosperity. The students of various educational institutions presented cultural program on the occasion, based on the theme of patriotism, national integration and composite cultural heritage of the State and the country. Dr. M. K. Kumar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Pankaj Gupta and Dr. Arvind Karwani, Deputy Chief Executive Officers, Hem Kant Prasher, Chief Accounts Officer of the Shrine Board, Anil Chandel, SDM, Katra, Sumir Kotwal, Additional SP, Katra, Sunil Kumar, Commandant, CRPF 6th Bn., Rajinder Singh, OSD (Revenue), SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB, senior civil and Police officers, prominent citizens, heads of various educational institutions, media persons, officers and staff of the Shrine Board, a large number of people of the area, teachers, school children and the pilgrims also graced the occasion. Lastly, chief guest gave away prizes to the students who were adjudged best in the march-past and presentation of cultural program. Meanwhile, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, CEO, SMVDSB, also hoisted the Indian Flag at a function held at the Central Office of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Katra wherein the officials of SMVDSB participated. |
