| ABVP welcomes statement of Pro Chancellor over student politics in campus | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 16: Welcoming the statement made by Pro Chancellor Jammu University, Mehbooba Mufti in which she said that student politics should not be crushed inside the institutions, ABVP JU Unit today demanded resignation of the JU's Chancellor, RD Sharma in a press conference.
According to press release, the press conference was addressed by Deepak Gupta, Jammu Mahanagar Jt. Secretary ABVP and Dilip Singh, Vice President JU ABVP at the Jammu University.
While interacting with the media persons Deepak Gupta said that it is a positive statement made by the Pro-Chancellor Jammu University Mehbooba Mufti who said that student politics should not be crushed inside the institutes of Higher Learning as students are the future of tommorow's political scenario for which the Vice Chancellor Jammu University Prof. R.D Sharma keeps opposite views that student activism and student politics shall not prevail inside the university campuses.
He further added that ABVP has been fighting battle over these issues with the Vice Chancellor since October 2015.
ABVP being the world's largest student organization has always brought up the demands of students and organizes programmes of promoting Nationalism amongst the students for which ABVP Jammu university unit organized a blood donation camp on March 16 2016 for which Prof. R.D Sharma denied permission inside the university campus, declaring ABVP as an political organization.
ABVP finally demands that the Vice Chancellor should immediately resign from his post as he is not liable to be on his post in a democratic setup. |
