Naib Tehsildars, Girdawar booked for corruption
Residents seek thorough probe in their misdeeds

Kathua, June 16: Acting on the report lodged by one Rattan Chand, residdent of ward no 15 Patel Nagar Kathua against 2 Naib Tehsildar Bhoj Raj & Shamsher Singh, posted in Kathua for decade, and a Girdawar namely Bal Krishan Bala, District Police Kathua filed a case under RPC sections 420, 467, 488 & 471 and presented the same in District Court Kathua.
As per the complaint, tainted naib- Tehsildars and Girdawar manipulated the revenue records of Rattan Chand and helped their close associate to get home loan from SBI in lacs. When Rattan Chand got to know about the manipulation of documents, he verified and found that all the three officers misused their powers and took huge share from housing loan after chaanging his land record in the name of another person.
Rattan Chand filed a case in Police Station against tainted Revenue officers. After thorough inquiry & verification, Police established the involvement of such officers and proceed with the case into session Court Kathua.
While speaking to media, Rattan Chand expressed surprise in the matter and suspected number of such manipulation in revenue records of other people. He demanded departmental inquiry against these officers and hoped for the justice from session court.
It is relevant to mention here that number of encroachment occurred in the areas of these tainted officers who served prolonged tenures in different posts at Kathua. Sources informed that agricultural lands have been used for commercial purposes, irrigation/ state land have been voluntarily transferred to property dealers and number of state land grabbed by influential people duly back by these three tainted officers.
It is not unknown to anyone in the town that these three corrupt officers used to harass people and collect huge illegal pecuniary benifits. Sources said despite number of complaints filed with Tehsildar Kathua against these tainted officers, no action has been inititated against them.
Sources said there could be number of such cases which could not be highlighted or pressed down by influential persons who shifted the revenue documents of poor/ farmers with the help of these corrupt officers of Revenue department.
