Early Times Report

Jammu, June 16: Castigating PDP-BJP government for its callousness towards the people, especially those living in remote and far-off areas, Provincial Youth National Conference President Jammu Ajaz Jan on Thursday described current power and drinking water crisis as unprecedented.
"The erratic power and drinking water supply, dilapidated condition of roads and poor utility services speak volumes about lack of will of the present insensitive government to serve the people", Jan said while addressing senior functionaries of the YNC.
He made a special reference with regard to power curtailments across the Jammu region, especially in Poonch and Kalakote areas and said the people are feeling worse kind of helplessness. "How can this government be so insensitive in leaving people fending for themselves in unprecedented and severe summer months", he wondered.
He said the drinking water, power and health is needed to be given priority and wherever intensity of water scarcity is more, the tanker services should be pressed into service so that people don't face any difficulty.
The former MLA sought a mechanism where under essential services are monitored on regular basis and corrective measures taken to ensure adequate supplies to the people.
Ajaz Jan also expressed anguish over poor health services and lack of civic amenities to the people, hoping that the government will shun its lackadaisical attitude and concentrate on governance rather than creating hype over non-issues to divide the people for garnering political advantage. He said divisive politics is against the composite ethos of Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, Provincial Vice President National Conference Jammu Mr Gurdeep Singh Sasan on Thursday blamed PDP-BJP coalition for total failure on all fronts due inconsistent, vision-less and directionless policies.
Interacting with various deputations at Trikuta Nagar, Sasan said that CAPD has totally failed to come to the expectations of the people and due to casual attitude of the government the CAPD has virtually collapsed . He said that people are suffering for want of ration and called for necessary and immediate remedial measures for redressing the grievances of consumers.
Surinder Singh Adv, Mrs Sharma Adv. Dr Joginder Singh, Col. Devinder Singh, Anil Gupta Rajesh Gupta Reminder Sharma Monika Gupta Ritu Sharma and others highlighted problems confronted to the people in Trikuta Nagar area.
