KPC condemns 'desecration act' in Jammu | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 16: Condemning the 'desecration act' which took place in historic religious place at Roop Nagar, jammu by some anti-social miscreants on June 14, the Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) expressed its dismay and unhappiness over increasing tendency in religious intolerance among some Muslim fundamentalist of the state, which resulted 'desecration of temple at Roop Nagar. In the meeting at New Delhi today, KPC leader also referred the ugly incident of stone pelting on Hindu yatris at Khanbal,Anantang, stoppage of Abinav Gupt yatra at Beerwah, Badgam and Kounsuer Nagh yatra at Kulgam in the recent past which is not in the overall interest of the state in particular for those element who want communal divide and disintegration of the state and the country . KPC Chief Kundan Kashmiri lambasted the State government for giving space to the separatists which had further emboldened the mischievous elements to trigger communal tension all across the State. He said that this obnoxious act of desecration at the revered religious place has gravely hurt the sentiments of the people of the Hindu community. KPC Chief made fervent appeal to all sects of the society to show restraint to maintain peace and harmony at all costs and keep the centuries old tradition of brotherhood intact to defeat the nefarious designs of the anti- national and fundamentalist forces who were hell bent to vitiate peace in the region. Among other present in this meeting were Tej Pandita, P.N.Mattoo.Susheel Bhat, Rinku Razdan, Surrender Bhat, Dr. H.L. Saraf and M.N. Raina. |
