Weather turns pleasant in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 16: Weather turned pleasant in the Kashmir valley today, where hottest day of the season was recorded, though there was some relief in the evening due to cloudy sky and winds. A Met department spokesman said here this afternoon that there could be Fairly Wide Spread(FWS) rain in the Kashmir valley and Jammu division. Scattered rain is predicted in both the regions during the next 24 hours, he said adding the weather will remain mainly dry in Ladakh region.People in the Kashmir valley woke up to a pleasant morning though sun also appeared occasionally and there were light showers also. The summer capital, Srinagar, where the hottest day was recorded yesterday when the maximum temperature surged and settled at 32.4 degree, four notches above normal, highest this summer so far, the weather today was pleasant, due to cloudy sky and winds. However, the minimum temperature was 16.8 degree, two notches above normal. There is possibility of light rain or thundershowers and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 29 degree and 15 degree respectively during the next 24 hours in the city. He said there could be light rain or thundershowers towards night and early morning and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 36 degree and 24 degree respectively in winter capital, Jammu during the next 24 hours. However, the weather will be mainly dry in the Leh where the sky would be partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 27 degree and 13 degree respectively during the next 24 hours. |
