CBI begins probe in CUJ recruitment scam | | | Early Times Report
jammu, June 16: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated inquiry into the reports of irregularities in the recruitment process for the post of PRO in the Central University of Jammu (CUJ). Although the CUJ authorities were tightlipped on the issue, Reliable sources said that a team of CBI visited the CUJ campus on June 15 and after preliminary enquiry summoned the Registrar Jit Singh to the CBI office at Bahu Plaza, Jammu. According to sources with university, it is learnt that the CBI is enquiring the allegations for allowing an ineligible candidate Rajan Badyal to appear in the interview for the post of PRO by the authorities of CUJ on March 30 allegedly by keeping members of the interview board in the dark about his experience and other irregularities. They maintained that CBI is reportedly looking into all aspects of violation of rules and regulations by the Vic-Chancellor Ashok Aima and Registrar Jit Singh by allowing Badyal to appear in the interview as he neither forwarded his application through proper channel from the Shri Mata Vaishnodevi University (SMVDU) where he is presently working and nor did he carry the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from his employer at the time of interview which was mandatory. They added that there were allegations that the Registrar over-ruled objections of the junior staff and escorted him to the interview committee whereas on the other hand a day earlier the CUJ did not allow a senior functionary of the education department Nutan Resutra to appear in the interview for the post of Finance Officer and also Controller of Examination on the grounds that he was not carrying the NOC. |
