POONCH, July 4 - On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, a joint market checking team today raided various business establishments in Poonch and checked the prices and quality of essential commodities particularly, vegetables, fruits, meat and chicken during Ramdhan and Eid-ul-Fitr. The erring shopkeepers were booked for different violations like non display of rates lists, use of unauthorized weighing scales, non display of food safety and Legal Metrology certificates, overcharging, use of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes, unstamped meat and unverified weighing scale.
A fine of Rs 28300 was realized from the defaulters on the spot. The joint inspection team was comprised of Tehsildar, CEO Municipal Committee, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety, Assistant Controller Legal Metrology and other field official including inspector of Legal Metrology, Food Safety and Municipal Committee Poonch. |
