Woman 'kills' husband with paramour's help

BANDIPORA, July 4: A Hajin resident was killed by his wife late yesterday evening after hatching a conspiracy with her boyfriend who allegedly had an illicit relationship with her.
A senior police official said Hajin police station yesterday received information that the body of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar of Vijipara, Hajin, was lying in the bathroom of his house. Soon thereafter, cops rushed to the spot took the body in their custoday.
A case under section 302 of RPC was registered and investigation was taken up to find out the truth. A police handout issued to press reads as: "A SIT was constituted by the SDPO, Sumbal, to work out the case."
During the course of investigation, Zamrooda Begum was questioned but she denied having any information about her husband's murder. She also told police that she did not have a cellphone for the past two years.
However, her claim was contradicted by her teenage children, who stated that their mother was having a mobile phone and was using it covertly.
The investigation revealed that the deceased had doubts on her wife of having illegal relationship with one Showkat Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Assadullah of Kumina Baharabad, Hajin, due to which some differences had developed in their wedlock.
Accordingly, Showkat was brought to police custody for questioning. During questioning he disclosed that he had an affair with the wife of deceased.
The investigation revealed that a few days ago, Showkat and Zamrooda hatched a criminal conspiracy to get rid of Fayaz Dar.
On the night of June 2, Showkat entered the room of the house from a window which had been kept open by Zamrooda. The duo then went to the room of Fayaz and killed him in his sleep.
While Showkat was alleged to have sit on his chest and held him tightly, Zamrooda had allegedly asphyxiated him.
