Worrisome condition of PHC Marhote 7/4/2016 10:50:00 PM Early Times Report Poonch, July 4: Conditions of health department in Poonch district are worrisome as sources from far flung village of Surankote, tehsil Hari Marhote allege that there is a Primary Health Center (PHC) of health department in Marhote village which is not functioning since a long. They said that there are four staff members in that center none of whom is pursuing his duty honestly. They allegedly said that while they wanted to approache Block Medical Officer (BMO) Surankote Parwaiz Khan, he were threatened. They further inform this correspondent that due to non availability of staff at PHC Marhote people take their patients to District Hospital Poonch, many of whom die on the way from Marhote to Poonch. They demanded for inquiry under law against BMO Surankote and staff members of said PHC. In this regard while reporter of early times wanted to take comments of Chief Medical Officer Poonch Dr. Niaz Ahmed, he ignored and refused to say anything that showed that he is also involved in this matter.
