Centre, state take people of Jammu province for granted : Interaction Forum

Reasi, July 4: Interaction forum-Jammu Province in its ongoing campaign to hold district level interactions, held its 5th interactive session at Reasi.
Earlier the interactions were held by the Forum at Jammu, Kathua, Rajouri and Udhampur to create awareness among the people of Jammu Province regarding various economical, social, political and developmental issues of Jammu Province.
The speakers highlighted various local and core issues pertaining to Jammu Province. All speakers appreciated the idea of creating the "Interaction Forum" with its non political character for forging unity among all shades and sections of the people, provide healthy platform for intellectual minded people to interact and contribute for the welfare of the society, act as healthy pressure group, launching awareness campaign in the masses on various core issues of Jammu, fight against social evils including drug menace, for promotion of local culture and languages and for providing collective leadership.
The speakers expressed concern for inadequate social infrastructure facilities pertaining to road connectivity, medical facilities and dearth of doctors, drinking water, education and power problems in Reasi District.
They observed that the central and state governments take people of Jammu Province for granted and the people of Jammu Province suffer in the bargain. They stated that since about one crore pilgrimage come annually to Shri Vaishno Mata Ji Shrine and District Reasi thus plays a significant role in boosting economy of the state yet the district remains neglected. District has great potential to boost states economy especially tourism sector, which is totally neglected.
Various speakers who spoke on the occasion include Beli Ram, Sita Ram Tehsildar (Retd.), Pritam Singh Sarpanch, Munshi Ram Salaria, Sub. Pritam Singh, Kuldeep Khajuria Former Head Master, Tariq Bhat,Kuldeep Dubey Advocate, Rajinder Sharma, Advocate, Varinder Magotra DFO (Retd.), Vijay Sharma Advocate, Comrade Sohan Lal, HC Jalmeria Advocate, BS Jamwal Dy. Commissioner (Retd.) Capt. Lalit Sharma and Ashok Sharma Advocate.
HC Jalmeria Advocate gave a historical prospective of the accession of the state to India and said that all area under illegal occupation of Pakistan is part of Jammu Province. He further said that maximum area, population and voters are from Jammu Province.
BS Jamwal emphasized upon collective and unified approach and work with honest, dedicated and missionary geal for educating and boosting the economical, standards of the people of Jammu Province.
