Jammu, July 4: Rich tributes were paid to Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz, veteran freedom fighter, close associate of Sheikh Abdullah and founder President of Jammu and Kashmir democratic Forum on his 32nd death anniversary, simultaneously at Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar. In a congregation organised here today by the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum (JKDF), senior leaders of various political parties, journalists and eminent personalities highlighted the many sided brilliance of Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz. They described him as an initiator of political and social awakening of Kashmir, who fought for the interests of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and upheld the traditional values of secularism and amity in the valley. Speaking on the occasion Pandit Bhushan Bazaz, President JKDF described Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz as a true son of Kashmir who fought for interest of the people through various forums he said, Bazaz Saheb through his literary writings and innumerable books projected the innate personality of Kashmir in its various aspects for which he would always be remembered. Bhushan Bazaz asked the people to protest against the senseless killings in Kashmir and said that due to the continuing spree of violence it was futile to expect the people of the state to join the mainstream. |
