Ramadan over, consumers await 1 kg additional sugar | | | MOHD IRFAN Jammu, July 4: The CAPD department has ignored the directives of the concerned Minister to issue one kg additional sugar to the consumers during the holy month of Ramadan. Many consumers who spoke to Early Times said that CAPD officials did not provide them with the additional sugar which was announced by the minister. Sources said the CAPD Minister while chairing a high level meeting of officers in Baramulla district a few days ago had directed the officials to provide 1 kg additional sugar to consumers in Ramadan month. Despite Ramadan month coming to an end CAPD officers have failed to provide the same to the consumers. Consumers said that they sued to get additional sugar in the month of Ramadan every year but this year CAPD has failed to provide it. One of the senior officials said: "CAPD has taken the gullible consumers for a ride. Ministers should take a serious note of this lapse and take stern action against the officials who are responsible for the mess." |
