HC notice to DGP, others in Asaram Ashram case | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 17: In a petition, seeking departmental action against IGP, Jammu, and SP, City North, for allegedly trying to shield the accused in FIR No 168/2013 registered at Nowabad police station, high court judge Tashi Rabstan today issued notice to the home secretary, DGP and others and granted them two weeks to file the status report. The petitioner has also demanded the constitution of SIT for investigation in the case. According to police case, one Vikrant Sharma had lodged a written complaint with the duty magistrate, Jammu, stating therein that he was a devotee of Vinod Kumar Gupta alias Bholla Nand Bholla Nath who was incharge of Asaram's Bhagwati Nagar Ashram in 2008-09. In September 2013, when Asaram was arrested, Bholla sought his help for creating evidence to implicate Asaram. Initially, he was astonished by his intentions but gradually he came to know that he was trying to implicate Asaram in a false case. He informed Narinder Singh, son of Shiv Narian Singh and some other persons and on their advise started recording his telephonic conversation with Bholla who asked him to give him the telephone number of Prajapati and arrange some girls or ladies who could level false allegations against Asaram. Bholla later appeared in a news channel and stated that there were dead bodies of children buried in the Bhagwati Nagar Ashram of Asaram. He later asked the complainant to arrange the skeltons of dead persons from some Muslim graveyard and bury them in the Bhagwati Nagar Ashram to show them to media. Bholla informed him that nobody had yet paid him money and media had also promised him the money but had not paid. Bholla told him that he was playing a big game. (JNF) |
