Separatists keep their kith and kin away from Kashmir mess

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 17: Separatist who glorify militancy and call on the youth of Kashmir to take up arms have kept their kith and kin way from the mess.
While the separatists want the children of the common man to come out on the roads to protest and leave their studies for a 'bigger cause', their own children and family members are getting the best education in other countries.
Nayeem Geelani, son of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani, who has been spearheading the agitation was a medical practitioner in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Nayeem's wife was also in the same profession there.
Geelani's second son, Zahoor Geelani, along with his family lives in New Delhi. Izhaar Geelani, grandson of Syed Ali Geelani, is a crew member of a private airliner in India, while his daughter Farhat Geelani is a teacher in Jeddah and her husband is an engineer there. Gulam Nabi Fai, a cousin of the octogenarian separatist leader, lives in London.
Rabia Farooq, sister of chairman of the Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, is a doctor and lives in the USA. Jugnu, son of Ghulam Mohammed Sumzi is a management student. Abid Sehrai, son of Mohammed Ashraf Sehrai, another general secretary of the Geelani faction, is a computer engineer in Dubai.
Chairperson of the Dukhtaran e Millat and also a Kashmiri separatist Aasiyeh Andrabi's elder son Bin Qasim is pursuing Bachelors of Information in Malaysia. Last year when Pulwama in Kashmir was burning and his mother going about praising the terrorists, Qasim had on the same day posted several posts on his Facebook account suggesting that he was chilling with friends. There is nothing to suggest that she has urged this son or the one in Malaysia to fight with arms in Kashmir. She has several relatives who are settled in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and England, but none have been told to come and take up arms in Kashmir.
Her nephews, Zulqarnain is a captain in the Pakistan Army and a second nephew Irtiyaz-un-Nabi is an aeronautical engineer and lecturer in a University, Islamabad.
Mariyam Andrabi, sister of head of the radical Dukhtran-e-Millat Aasiyeh Andrabi, along with her family lives in Malaysia.
Rooma Maqbool, son of head of Mass Movement Farida Behanjee, lives and works as a medical practitioner in South Africa.
Sarwar Yaqub, son of a spokesman for the Geelani faction, Ayaz Akbar, is a management student in Pune, while two sons of another leader of the Geelani faction Abdul Aziz Dar, Umer Dar and Adil Dar are studying in Pakistan.
These revelations clearly expose the hypocrisy of separatists, who regularly issue diktats to others children to not to go to school or college and join protests instead. A majority of the separatist leaders (Azaadi Gang) in Kashmir have made it sure that their children get quality education outside Kashmir.
I urge my Kashmiri brothers to rethink the mindless violence that has been inflicted in the Valley in the past few decades.
Youth needs to understand and should ask this question to separatist leaders 'if jihad is so pious then why don't they or their children pick up guns?' As mentioned above, Children of these Aazadi gang are tucked away in safe environments in schools in Malaysia, America, London, India or Pakistan, and poor people's sons are dying on streets which is later glorified by Separatists. This bloodshed must stop.
Many Kashmiris have lost their lives. Many youth in Kashmir, whether justified or unjustified, have a lot of resentment. They are angry, but we can see what it does when you chose violent ways to give vent to your resentment and to your anger.
We appeal to the Kashmiri youth to shun violence and opt for some other civilised way to vent their resentment.
We must understand and the Kashmiri youth must understand that picking up guns is not the way which will get you somewhere.
This must end. This violence, This bloodshed must end.
