| Historic Poonch fort tattered, administration silent spectator | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, July 17: District Poonch has many historical places in it. Poonch fort is one of the historical places of the city. Due to the insecurities of said fort by district administration it has lost its beauty. Local people and designated workers of different social and political organizations allege district administration especially the concern department, that they have failed to maintain the beauty of the city.
Sources said that there is a board which shows "no construction zone" up to hundred meters from the fort, but it is only on the board.
What is the reality is that people are using some area of fort as "urinal" as there is lack of facilities of urinal. The remaining area of the fort has been covered by some land mafias for their businesses purposes.
People allegedly said that administration is involved to misuse the land of historical fort, so they are not taking any initiatives in this regard. Sources also informs that the fort is just about two hundred meters far from bus stand Poonch and all the officers of district administration moves daily from there, why they not take any action against such land mafias to protect historical fort," they questioned.
They appealed to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter and protect historical glory of Poonch. |
