Jan demands safe evacuation of Poonch labourers stuck in valley | | | Early Times Report
Jammu July 19: Youth National Conference demanded that state government should immediately evacuate hundreds of labourers from Poonch Mandi who are stuck somewhere in valley and are out of contact with family since last eight days. In a press statement issued here YNC Provincial President Ajaz Jan said that about one hundred and thirty person from Poonch Mandi were working as labourers in Kupwara and were engaged in the work of laying of Optical Fibre Cable. " These men contacted their families eight days back after which no communication has taken place and families of all these men are in a state of sadness and worry fearing safety " Jan said. He also contacted SSP Poonch and intimated him about this situation demanding that Poonch Police should take up the matter with Srinagar counterparts and should find whereabouts of all these men and should also find safe passage for them. "Government should ensure that all these men should get safe passage as they went valley in search of a source of income "Jan added. Those person stuck in valley whose family contacted Ajaz Jan and narrated the problem include Mohd Bashir s/o Jamal Din, Abdul Hamid s/o lal Din, Alaf din s/o Mohd. Din, Mohd Arif s/o lal Din, mohd Shafi s/o madha, Mohd Akram s/o Qadar sheikh, Mohd Farooq s/o sunnulaw sheikh, Irshad Ahmed s/o Abdul shakoor, Shoket Iqbal s/o sadar din, Zafar Iqbal s/o sadar din, bashir Din sheikh s/o sadar din, parwais Ahmed s/o Bashir, Wajhat Ahmed s/o Bashir Din, mohd Maroof s/o Mohd. Din residents of Mandi Poonch. |
