Separatists thirst for blood unquenched | Keep on extending shut down calls | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: The Kashmiri separatists' thirst for blood is yet to be quenched despite the fact that over 43 people are killed and over 2,000 people, including 1400 security personnel injured in clashes. This is evident from the decision the separatists have taken to prolong their call for shut down. In fact the valley stands shut down during the last 11 days on the advice of the separatists. Each day people including security personnel get either killed or injured but separatists' thirst for bloodshed has not been yet quenched. During the last 11 days these separatists have been ext ending their shutdown calls after every three days and under the new calendar they have announced that Kashmir will face yet another shutdown from July 19 to July22. Since people have been willingly responding their call for general hartal these separatists feel elated and a time has come when separatists run the show and not the Government. As the political uncertainty looms large on Kashmir, the Union Home Ministry has had to rush additional 20 companies of paramilitary forces to tackle incidents of violence. After over 1400 security personnel mainly policemen were injured during the last 10 days of turmoil security agencies had felt the pinch of shortage of manpower with the result curfew restrictions in various parts of the valley could not be strictly enforced resulting in fresh clashes. And time is not far behind when the separatists could get exposed and people may stop responding to their call for shutdown. Hence it is time for the separatists to call off their shutdown calls so that people experience some relief. |
