Man held responsible for death of wife, minor son; booked in murder case | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, July 19: A man is alleged to have committed the murder of his wife and a minor son as she was opposed to his illicit relation with a woman. On July 15 last, Noor Jehan and her 3-month-old son were burnt to death in their house at Targain near here. According to the report lodged with Budhal police station by Mohammad Nazir, there was a fire in their house due to kerosene oil on July 15. He claimed that despite his best efforts, he could not save his wife and minor son. His hands had suffered burns while trying to save them, he told police. Acting on his complaint, police reached the spot and evacuated the bodies to local hospital. During post-mortem, it was discovered that the woman had a head injury. There were also blood stains at the scene of the crime, police sources said. Police first registered a case under section 174 of CrPC, but later converted into a murder case. During questioning, Nazir was alleged to have confessed to the crime, saying that Noor Jehan was opposed to his illicit relation with a village woman, sources said. Police also also questioned the woman. "It is now almost clear that Nazir had committed the crime and he will soon be arrested," a senior police officer alleged. Budhal police station SHO Ajay Singh Chib alleged that it was now almost clear that Nazir was responsible for the death of his wife and son. |
