Separatists, Hafiz Saeed out to set Kashmir on fire | | | Early Times Report Jammu, July 19: As the shutdown and curfew remained in force for the 12th running day across Kashmir, separatists geared up on Tuesday to add fuel to the fire by asking people to stay indoors and observe "Black Day" on Wednesday. At many places across Srinagar and other places across Kashmir graffitis and posters have appeared asking people to observe July 20 as "Black Day" to show it to Pakistan that Kashmiris are with them. Sources said, "Separatists have activated their henchmen and have asked them to ensure that stone pelting and protests take place across Kashmir on large scale on Wednesday so that their bosses sitting across the LoC become happy." Insiders claimed that "Security agencies are investigating the reports about fresh money having been pumped into Kashmir. There are reports that crores of rupees were sent to Kashmir through Hawala channels before Eid to trigger unrest in the Valley." On the other hand Chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawaa and the most wanted terrorist in India Hafiz Saeed today led a 'Kashmir Caravan' from Lahore to Islamabad and vowed to march towards Jammu and Kashmir "till Kashmiris gets freedom." Stretching several kilometers, the caravan left for Islamabad from Lahore's Mall Road on Tuesdayafternoon. The rally would reach its destination on Wednesday where the JuD has planned a huge anti-India rally. In the next phase the rally it would leave for Muzaffarabad and Chakothi in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. "And in the third phase the (caravan) will march into Kashmir and will continue marching till Kashmiris get freedom," Hafiz Saeed has said. The founder of the Lashkar-e-Taiba who carries a USD 10-million bounty on his head reportedly is in touch with Kashmiri separatists and all the attempts are being made to turn the ongoing unrest into an complete anti-India movement. Sources said that security and intelligence agencies are aware about the nefarious designs of separatists and their Pakistan based masters. An analyst while talking to Early Times said, "It's strange that state and central governments are allowing the separatists to call the shots. Hurriyat hawak Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq despite being under house arrest are issuing provocative statements and are in touch with their people through phones and internet. Many second rung separatist leaders are operating covertly in Kashmir and are evading arrest." Sources said, "Police and other security forces are busy with maintaining law and order. They (separatists) are taking full advantage of it and are trying to regroup their cadres to turn the ongoing unrest into a full blown crisis." They said, "If security agencies don't pay heed towards curbing the activities of the separatists it can have far reaching consequences." |
