Aim of the convention was to take the anti-drug campaign at the remotest and far-flung areas to make the campaign vibrant. Addressing the convention, Chairman of the Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal exhorted the youth to shoulder their responsibility of making Jammu free from the deadly drugs because authorities concerned on its part have failed to keep a check on this menace. He regretted that this menace is slowly gripping entire Jammu region but those at the helm of the affairs have failed to perform their duties to check supply of drugs in Jammu region. Jamwal said that Team Jammu has already started a campaign against drug abuse in Jammu region to liberate youth from the yoke of this deadly menace. "We have already organized a number of anti-drug rallies across Jammu region besides holding seminars, symposiums and convocations to educate people about drugs", Jamwal said and expressed satisfaction that response of the people is over-whelming and encouraging. He said that Team Jammu is committed to eradicate this menace but support of every section of the society is must to accomplish this task. "I do admit that influential people are involved in Narco business but we are also committed to expose those who have been playing with the lives of innocent youth of this region", he said. Calling upon youth to awake from the deep slumber at this crucial time, Mr Jamwal sought to draw attention of youth towards neighbouring Punjab state, where menace of drugs has gripped huge chunk of younger generation. |
