Anti-India rally amidst curfew embarrasses security agencies | | | Munish Mehra
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 31: Despite police and other forces imposing strict curfew in Kashmir for the past 23-days, Jamaat-I-Islami, Jammat-e-Ahalhadees and a few other organizations organized a rally in south Kashmir on Sunday to eulogize the militants. In the rally a few LeT militants, including Abu Dajana, made their presence felt and left the venue before security forces could reach them. Reports said that rally was held at Kareemabad Pulwama and thousands of people reached there to participate in the event. "Jamaat activists managing such a huge rally amidst strict curfew and armed militants appearing on the scene has put the question mark on the tall claims of the security agencies about noose being tightened around anti-national elements and miscreants," said a source. He said, "Thousands of people assembling at Kareemabad send the security agencies into tizzy and they were unable to foil the anti-India rally under their vey nose." The rally was organized days after the Chief of Jamaat-ul Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, most wanted militant in India and mastermind behind the 9/11 Mumbai attack, disclosed that a top LeT militant led the funeral prayers of Hizb commander Burhan Wani. Reports said Abu Dujana, self styled commander of LeT, involved in a series of militant activities, and his accomplices appeared in the rally, much to the embarrassment of security agencies. The video, showing the self-styled LeT Commander has gone viral on social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Eyewitness said the militant commander along with five to six armed militants surfaced in the rally. The self styled militant commander, however stayed for a brief period and didn't make any speech. "All of the sudden youths around him (Abu Dujana) stared raising slogans all for at least ten minutes and after successfully making his appearance felt in the crowd, he fled away," they added. This is not the first time that militants have surfaced in between the crowds and funerals. Like nineties, militants have again started making their presence felt in public particularly at the funerals of militants for giving them gun salute. Abu-Dujana is believed to be master mind of several militant attacks is active south Kashmir since the day former LeT Commander Abu Qasim was killed in Kulgam district. NIA probing August 5 attack on BSF convoy at Udhampur, has announced cash reward on six LeT and HM militants including Abu Dujana. Dujana is carrying a bounty of INR 800,000 while others carry INR 500,000 on their heads. |
